1. I am feeling pain and some redness on the areas I have applied, What should I do ?
If you feel some pain/redness, along with some peeling, this means that the cream is effective on your skin. To ease the pain / redness please put a layer of moisturiser / O2 Balancing Cream before applying a thin layer of the O2 Whitening Cream on desired area. If redness and pain still persist, please stop using cream and consult a doctor.
2. I have been using the O2 Whitening Cream for quite some time already however, pigment keeps on getting darker and darker, is it suppose to be like this?
Yes, it is normal for some individuals that your pigment gets darker and darker. This is because our skin consists of different layers, each time the top layer starts peeling, it generates a new inner layer of skin beneath and starts pushing the second layer of skin upwards, followed by the third and so forth. The purpose of the whitening cream is to decrease the level of melanin in the skin cells. So you would have to keep applying until the pigmentation gets lighter. In the day time, please put on sunscreen. You may also apply a layer of moisturiser or O2 Balancing Cream before applying sunscreen. Hence, do not be alarm if your skin becomes darker each time as the of pigmentation on different skin layer varies.
3. Can i use this cream in the day time?
This treatment cream is to be use only indoors, avoiding sunlight. Do not apply it when you are heading out in the daytime as this may disrupt the treatment process. We highly recommend you to only apply a layer of moisturiser / O2 Balancing Cream, followed by a layer of sunscreen when heading out in the sun.
4. The cream that I have received looks light brown, different from my previous purchase from the shops which are white/yellow can I still use it ?
Yes, we have received several feedbacks on the cream looking a little brown when purchase online compared to those purchase directly from the retail shops outside. This may be because the products has been out of the fridge during transportation for a few days. As many regular knows this product needs to be stored in the fridge before usage. This is because the cream does not contain preservatives thus to prevent it from oxidising too quickly, it needs to be stored in a cold temperature. Once it oxidises it becomes brown, the cream still can be used if before the expiry date. However, if the colour of the cream has turned dark chocolate brown, we suggest to not use the cream anymore as it is not safe. If you are not sure whether is your cream safe to use, you may take a picture and email us at info@silken.com.sg for advice.Â
5. There are some brown stains/wet stains on the packaging, it is still safe to use?
Yes, the cream is still safe to use. Be reminded that all O2 Whitening Cream were stored in fridge prior packing thus it is natural for condensation to occur once it is not kept in a cold environment especially during transportation or holding at respective courier warehouse over a period of time. Wet stains could be due to the condensation from the cream container staining the outer box. As for the brown stains, it could be during to mishandling during transportation.Â
SOLUTION: To omit condensation/wet stains, we have improved our packaging from bubble wrapping around the container before placing it into the box. To omit brown stains, all product are now produced with a layer of plastic sheet to prevent the cream from leaking out of the container easily, staining the box.Â
6. When is the expiry date and why expiry date is only 6 months? So short.Â
Yes, expiry date for the O2 Whitening Cream has always been valid for 6 months only. This is because our product does not contain preservatives so it is recommended to use regularly before it expires. Expiry date of product would be 6 months from the date we shipped out from the warehouse. Hence, it is advisable not to order for stock keeping.Â
7. Why is the new formula / texture more watery compared to before?
Based on the feedback, our old cream turns to dark brown very quickly. This is because our product does not contain preservatives. To resolve this issue, a new improved formula is produced, where higher concentration of moisture is added to the cream reducing the rate of oxidisation when placed in room temperature. This new formula will resolve some of the feedbacks of colour inconsistency during transportation for online purchases. We seek your understanding and do note that the effectiveness of the cream will still be visible. However, individual results’ may vary.
